The University of Nairobi, has complied with data protection Act,2019 which provides for the regulation of the processing of personal data. This includes ensuring that personal data is collected and processed fairly and lawfully, that data subjects are informed of the purpose of data processing, and that appropriate measures are in place to protect the security and confidentiality of personal data.
The University of Nairobi’s Data Protection Officer, is ethically responsible to ensure that data collection and processing practices align with recognized ethical standards and that the privacy rights of research participants, students and staff are protected
